October 24, 2003 11:37 PM - So... here's the crackdown for the week.
Monday - nothing special, oh yeah, once again, my religion proved right. For everything positive that happens, there's always an opposite and equal negative thing that happens (it's just like Newton's "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction"). Anyways, that day was a pretty rough day in terms of being teased, bullied, and directed at with abusive language. *Cough cough Brian Guo cough cough*. Anyways, that was the first day of school after Daniel Malzone's bar mitzvah, where all who were invited received a new shirt. So Brian Guo starts his thing about, "Wow... is that your first new shirt in like 5 years?", stuff like that, and the day starts. Well, it turns out that Brianna Greenwald and I were the only ones who actually wore the shirt we got at the bar mitzvah. Yeah! Go Brie! You're so cool. Anyways, that's pretty much Monday. Oh wait... no, I forgot a BIG thing. Rubber band guns! rubber band ammo! The 6 rubber band guns and the pound of rubber band ammo I ordered as birthday presents arrived. I had great fun testing them out and shooting myself (quite painful). The rifles are the M-16 Renegade Rifle, Junior Assault Rifle, Carbine Rifle, Western Carbine Rifle, Browning Automatic Rifle, and the Kentucky Rifle. Target practice is fun. (I use a doorknob as my target.)
So that's basically my week. Pretty decent, wouldn't you say? I'm happy with it, I just wish I didn't have so freakin' much homework. Coming up:
Tuesday - KMO, though only Andy Tien, Greg LaLuna, Hilary Shui (yay! Go Hilary!), and I showed up for the eighth graders. Everybody else probably listened to the announcements, which I didn't hear by the way since when they were being announced in homeroom my class was so loud I could only hear a blur, and so that's probably why they didn't come. Well, Chris Kuo couldn't come because of his upcoming concert. But that's it. I read the questions for about 10 minutes towards the end. Also, when Mr. Anderson (the KMO coordinator) did these last few question thingies at the end with us, where he tallied up our points, there was a lightning round with the letter "A" and I went mad crazy with it. I was like buzzing in when Mr. Anderson had only said like two words, and I was still guessing the right answers. For example, I remember him saying, "This U.S. city...", and I buzzed in right after that, and after a two second silent delay, I guessed Atlanta, and I got it right. Then there was another one like, "This poetic device...", I buzz in and guess "alliteration" and get it right. Everyone's going like, "What the heck? How the heck does he know this stuff? He must have looked at the questions and answers beforehand." But of course, I didn't. And I was really on fire. I was hotstreaking. Blazing. It felt really good and satisfying to be racking up all those points. And also I was frustrating others including my own teammates, hehe (Greg and Andy). There was this one in particular - something about the Spanish fleet - to which the answer was armada, where Greg was like, "You.. you.. UGH.. I HATE YOU... Grr... Argh...". It was kind of funny because Greg LaLuna and I were sitting right next to each other, and we were using two separate buzzers. But Mr. Anderson counted us as one team. So after finding that out, Greg was like, "Oh... yeah... I answered so many questions and racked up so many points." Hehe. That was great. Fun KMO practice. But surprisingly, even with like only 1/2 the normal amount of people showing up, it seemed noisier than with all the other people.
Wednesday - Newspaper Club - finished typing my interview with Michael Bruno. Heh, I remember last week, when Kate got the interviews done with Shanna DiSimone (I hope that's how you spell her name), Kimberly Gogel, and Anthony Castano, Mrs. Crane was like, "Who's the last person and where's his interview?", directly this question at me, as if implying that I was being a lazy butt and not doing anything. Anyways, I had already gotten the interview with Michael Bruno, but I lost it, and so I lied and said, "I couldn't get a chance to interview him. He didn't fill it out yet." Something like that. Anyways, Mrs. Crane was like, alright, I want you all to corner him and keep bothering and pestering and annoying Michael Bruno until he finally fills out that interview form. And I was like uh-oh. Once they find Michael Bruno and ask him about the interview, my tale will be blown. They'll find out I already interviewed him and just lost the interview and lied to them all. So luckily for me, I found the interview that night and when I got to school, I pretended that I had just done the interview that morning. Hehe, luckily for me, everyone believed me and that lie was wrapped up. As some of you probably know, I lie quite a lot, though I know that ain't exactly a good thing. Hehe, cough cough Alice cough cough. Hey, she does it like 10 times more than me, and is a much better actress. That's why I don't like her too much. Too sneaky and deceptive. Too dark and mysterious. Too dangerous. I don't like that. I wouldn't feel safe disclosing my darkest secrets and fantasies to her or to others with her behind my back, getting the information indirectly through a back route through the information being passed on through like 10 people and finally getting to her. She has too many acquaintances and that makes it difficult to hide information from her. And plus, all my good friends who I disclose information to know her and are on decent terms with her. And she thinks she has this charming, hypnotizing look, behavior, and speech that will get me or whoever to tell her anything. So that's that. After I finished typing up the Michael Bruno interview, I went to find the Forensics Club meeting. I traversed the whole building and couldn't find it. I passed through two other clubs, one of which was the homework club. I also passed Mrs. Law... that scary elementary school math teacher who also teaches 7th grade math. Whoa... that was freaky. I saw her grading something through the window of a classroom. Lucky she didn't see me, or otherwise, she probably would've like gotten up and said "Hi" to me, and then I'd have to do a short conversation with her, where I'd lie and whatnot and have to tell her about my classes and teachers and how they're all so great and everything. I hate that. So when I was repassing the window, I ducked and crawled past it. That's how desperate I am not to be seen. Later on I found out that the Forensics Club meeting was in the IMC at the time. Late that night - 1 AM, did all my math homework, all of which was due Monday, October 27.
Thursday - Half day of school, piano lessons at 3:45 PM, soccer practice from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, dinner, shower, brush my teeth - 8:00, start my homework.
Friday - come home, Starcraft, nap, brush my teeth, clarinet practice, dinner, brush my teeth, theory homework, clarinet practice, Solfeggios (sight-singing book), clarinet practice, pack-up, drive to Calderone School of Music, lesson, drive home, beef jerky and Starcraft, and finally I got to updating my website.
Saturday - soccer game at 9:30 AM, Yale vs UPENN at Franklin Field in Philadelphia - 3:30 PM, includes two hour drive there, parking, meeting up with my brother and company, yeah. Expect that to take two to three hours. Afterwards, dinner in Chinatown with my Grandma and Aunt Teresa who are both living in Philadelphia. Expect to come home around 10 PM.
Sunday - Morning: chinese homework (1 extra hour due to daylight-saving time, whoot!), Afternoon: Chinese School (including Chinese history class before class and Go! class after class), Come home at 6, dinner, shower, brush my teeth, homework starts at 7 PM. Great. I need to write a short story for Monday and finish a book report for social studies by then in order to receive credit for this marking period.
October 23, 2003 11:12 PM - I've decided to finally get back to my website! Wow... it's incredible how freakin' much homework I'm getting. I gotta make this entry short because I really gotta crunch down on some of that homework. I seriously think the teachers are trying to kill us with homework. I got to get in a social studies book report by Monday, October 27, and I just signed out a book today. I got to read this 200 some odd number pages book called "I, Robot" by Isaac Asinov or something by November 4. I also have to answer some questions the teacher will give us next week on Tuesday. Now, the teacher adds on a short story due Monday, October 27. Now, this weekend, it's a normal weekend, no days off, no extended anything. I got a soccer game Saturday morning, then I'm leaving for Philadelphia for a football game at 3:30 PM. Expecting that to take approximately 2 - 3 hours, I'd say I'd leave Philadelphia around 6 or 7 PM, meaning I'd get home around 9 PM. Whoot. That's just great. A whole day spent and no progress made on homework. Now, for all those people who don't know yet, I always do my Chinese School homework Sunday morning, the day I have Chinese School. The morning is spent doing homework and the afternoon is spent at Chinese School. I get home at approximately 5:40, settle in, and it's already 6:00 PM. Then I got to eat. Great, it's 6:30. Finally, I get to start on something. You think a normal person can read a book, do a book report, and write a short story in 12 hours, assuming that most normal people sleep for approximately 8 of those 12 hours I have left before I have to get ready for school the following day. Oh yeah, not to mention, I also have a math project due next week on Thursday, October 30. Yep, that's just great. Uh-huh. I haven't even started and I haven't the faintest clue as to what I'm gonna do. Oh yeah, still, I haven't mentioned my clarinet and piano lessons, and the practicing time I need to set aside for that. Well, all in all, I'd say I have about 6 good hours of working and reading time from now until Monday, October 27. That's saying that I don't spend any of that having fun or chatting with my friends. Ah... life sucks. Get used to it. That's what they all say. The only thing I have to look forward to is Friday, October 31 (Halloween), where the PACT Science class has the field trip to Buehler. I wish I could fast forward exactly 1 week. That would put be at October 29 11:43 PM, and all the freakin' work and projects and whatnot would be over for that week. Then I could go to sleep and enjoy the field trip to Buehler. But <sigh>, life doesn't work that way. Oh wells. I think I'll be hittin' the sack right about now. Good night. ~Erwaman~
