Back

Just a quick post before I go to sleep. I'm pretty tired right now, so it's an early night for me - certainly not my regular crash time.

Thursday night, I studied CS with my suitemate in the CS building till 4 a.m., then I decided to just sleep there but he went back to the dorm to sleep. Took the final 6.5 hours later in class, and it turned out to be fairly simple - we were overprepared :).

After the final, I napped and then practiced StarCraft with my "Taiwanese" friends (we're representing the Taiwanese Society) for the Taiwan vs. China vs. Korea StarCraft tourney today. Played a lot of SC yesterday, didn't sleep until 4 a.m. again, planned on sleeping in, but got woken up at 8 a.m. when my suitemate called me to let him in the building - apparently he blacked out last night and was just returning from health services. Went back to sleep, got up again at 11:30ish, ate brunch, and went to the tourney place. Heh, ultimately, no "Koreans" showed up, one "Chinese" came, and four "Taiwanese" came. Guess Taiwan won by default. Well, we just played some 2v2s and 1v1s, even setting up a projector broadcast of the game in another room, so people could watch and discuss the game without distracting the players. Awesome time.

Freshman holiday dinner tonight - so many desserts! - and then my first hockey game, which was with the YPMB. Bleh, we were leading 2-1 going into the third period, then collapsed and gave up 4 goals without scoring any more. The cool rink temperature, the more spacious stands, the clear PA system, all made for a far more enjoyable experience than my first basketball game (also with the band).

Went to a '012-hosted band party afterward, which was kind of lame :(, partially because it was too bright (the door was open to let people in, but the bright hallway light filtered into the room and ruined the atmosphere) and maybe also because I was tired, I wasn't in party/dance mood.

Returned to my suite, opened the door and was hit by an overwhelmingly suffocating stench of alcohol. Walked around, greeted some people, then went to my room. Assessed my feelings, decided I was mad exhausted, wondered how to sleep with such loud noise, decided to sleep in CS building. Then thought about bringing laptop and Chinese stuff for studying. Decided to do that but first, I would shower and brush my teeth. And amazingly, after I stripped, wrapped a towel around myself, and left my room for the bathroom, everyone was gone! Seems like they were just pre-gaming in our suite. This stroke of luck saved me a lot of tedious packing and travel and now I am going to sleep.

P.S.: Classes are over! One final done! Just finals and a final paper for Chinese left. Lots of free time (but I better not think that).

Good night.
