One piece of writing that I am submitting is my debate speech on Locker Searches. I am on the negative side. I’m selecting this piece specifically because I feel that I am a really good debater. I am submitting this piece to Boy's Life.
My name is Chris Macaluso, and I am a twelve year old boy living in Whippany, New Jersey. When I was younger, I used to get your magazine. I love sports. I play baseball and basketball, and I am also a huge football fan. I love the New York Jets. I split season tickets with my old neighbor from Mine Hill. I moved to Whippany in third grade. My last game I went to was on October 27 when they lost to Cleveland because of the horrible play calling. In baseball I like the Yankees, in basketball I like the Knicks, and I like the Devils in hockey. I go to Memorial Junior School and I get pretty good grade with A’s and B’s. In my spare time, I like to watch TV and play on my computer. My favorite TV show is Sports Center. I don’t really like to read, but my favorite book is Farm Team by Will Weaver. It’s about a kid who lives on a farm, and when the spring time comes, he plays baseball with the town team, but his dad got arrested for blowing up a car lot because the owner sold them a lemon, so Billy can’t go to baseball. But while his dad's in jail, his mom and him make a baseball field, where he and a bunch of his neighbors play the town team and win!!!
