Erwaman's Personal Journal - June

June 24, 2003 6:27 PM - WASABI!!!! Hey, what's up? All I wanted to do is post up this picture of me at my cousin's house in Irvine, California. Take a look.

Family Gathering

June 22, 2003 10:20 PM - Hey hey! I know I haven't posted in years, and I'm really sorry for all you dedicated fans to my website. Anyways, I just got back, ate dinner, and took a shower after 7 grueling hours of yard work at my family's Piscataway (in Middlesex County, south southeast of Morris County) house, 7 hours requiring physical and mental endurance under the burning temperatures that soared over 80 degrees Fahrenheit for most of the time. The only way somebody could truly understand the feelings I had during those 7 intense hours is by actually experiencing those 7 hours themselves. Words cannot describe such a radical 7 hours. Anyways, I just received the pictures Chris Kuo's parents took of us at the CTY (Center for Talented Youths) Awards Ceremony at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where I went for ACE Computer Camp three or four summers ago. I look retarded and horrible in the pictures.

Chris Kuo looks a lot better than me. And Kate Mayans and Lulu Tsao look beautiful... but then again, what's new? They always do. So... school's out, and the fourth day of freedom is coming to an end, and four days have passed by of summer vacation, and I am four days closer to starting eighth grade. Sigh... I'm getting a little pessimistic myself... perhaps influenced by Brianna, but I shouldn't blame it on her, she's such a cool, interesting, and unique person, though she would never admit it herself. All my friends are "cool cats" as she would say or "dudes" and "dudettes," and I just can't believe how fortunate I am to be friends with them all. Man, I consider myself a lucky person. I mean, what are the odds of landing in a place with people as diverse and unique and interesting as those at my school? I could go on describing traits and characteristics and why each and every one of them is unique for ever and ever, but I am not going to do that right here, for I'm sure you've all heard me compliment you on your qualities, which is not a very difficult thing to do, considering how obvious they are when you all are such great people and great friends. Trust me, I speak honestly and from the heart and soul; I would not lie like this when there is no need. I'm worn out from my day of yard work and feel like playing some Starcraft. That's it for now. Oh wait, on Thursday, I went biking to Mark Hansen's house from my house, a 10-15 minute bike ride that is mostly downhill, and includes going down the full length of Countrywood Drive, unless you cut through the path through the woods to Mountview Road School (which I did take), and go out down Mountview Road. At Mark's house, I invited Greg Andre and Mark Hansen to come bike riding with me, and they did, and we rode back to my house, the journey an incredibly difficult, tiring, and painful trip, being mostly uphill, having to go all the way up Countrywood Drive. Anyways, when we were going down Forest Way, we stopped by Alex Chiang's house. We parked our bikes in his driveway and then we circled back to the backside of his house and looked through the windows of his dad's office, where we saw Alex busily doing something on his computer. It took him like 30 seconds to realize we were watching him before he noticed us. He quickly got dressed, put on his shoes, and was out the door. We biked to my house, and played the "5-3-2 game," which I still haven't explained, with my friends, and then we played "sockysac," which is Alex Chiang and I - our version of "hackysac." We play it with a soccer ball, and there aren't really many restrictions or rules, the objective basically being to "kick the ball, and if you can, keep the ball in the air." After that, we went inside and played Super Nintendo (yeah! Go old video game systems! You can't beat the classics!). We play Super Street Fighter II, in which we had some "fireball contests," which are battles in which you can only choose characters with range attacks and ONLY use the range attack. We continued playing that until Alex Chiang had to go home, and Mark Hansen and Greg Andre left. On Friday, I went to Dan Malzone's pool party, which many of you went to, and had a blast! Too bad Mr. Malzone told us to "be nice to the girls," and I got dunked a couple of times and almost drowned. The floatation devices, such as the beach ball and noodles were key targets for me and other people. Treading water is so annoying, and I eventually tire out. Too bad Lulu wasn't there to enjoy the fun or prove to us her eating abilities and share the purple (funky color) ketchup. Alright, that's about it. I forget the rest that's happened in the 21 days since my last journal entry. Anyways, I wish you all a safe, healthy, fun, and happy summer vacation! ~Erwaman~

June 1, 2003 12:02 AM - I am so sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've just been so freakin' busy the past week. I finished posting up Chris Macaluso's, Ken Kawamoto's, and my portfolios on my website. I'm working on Alice Kim's right now, but she hasn't sent me all her stuff yet, so I can't post everything. Anyways, last week, on Wednesday, I did my social studies presentation, but I kind of took a little too long. My presentation took over half an hour and my other group members didn't get a chance to go, so they have to go tomorrow. (Oops!) Anyways, my presentation turned out pretty well and that was that. On Friday, the France and the Low Countries group went, and one of the group members brought in Brie cheese that was SO good. I put it on my French bread, my grapes, and in my Canada Dry (just kidding, I didn't put it in my Canada Dry). Man that stuff was good. Delicious. And it was pretty healthy too. I checked the nutrition facts, and they weren't too bad. I heard it was pretty expensive, too. I can see why now. Anyways, I feel so stupid. I forgot to hand in my Poetry Pamphlet due on Friday. I COMPLETELY forgot. This is ridiculous. And I have my Chinese school final tomorrow, and I haven't started studying or done my homework. I think I'm screwed. And I have to perform in my piano teacher's student concert in 6 days! Next Saturday! That's also when I'm going to go to that Johns Hopkins Awards Program for distinguished honors on my SATs. I have my clarinet recital for Calderone School of Music on June 18. I am so much more prepared for that than my piano performance. I am so stressed. The school pool party is on June 12 and I'm looking forward to that. Finals are going to be held next week and the week after that. Homework is coming to an end and there are no more projects or reports. Yay! Oh no. PACT poetry project thing due Friday. I haven't even started. I hope some of my group members write some poems. I am so screwed. I am gonna go mad out crazy practicing piano this week. So, I will be very busy finishing up the final homework and assignments and preparing for my instrument performances and finals. Today's the last weekend I can actually enjoy until the end of school. Alright, tune in soon for more. See ya! I'm really tired now. Gonna go read a book. See ya! ~Erwaman~
