Dream Log
Back

One day, a friend of mine gave me this site - http://www.xs4all.nl/~pasquale/TTM/1/index.html - about "lucid dreaming." After reading about this "lucid dreaming," I was inspired to record my dreams every morning I have the chance to. As the creator of that website about lucid dreaming believes, I also believe that dreams have a significance. I am quite religious in my Zyxquavipkyllian-Lykpivauqxyzian religion, and so, this "lucid dreaming" topic interests me much. When I read about it, it clicked right in with my Zyxquavipkyllian-Lykpivauqxyzian religion; I could tell because it felt right inside of me, consulting with my soul and heart. I believe dreams have symbols that you must decipher. Most dreams are so weird or strange, but yet, when we are dreaming, we take anything as "normal." "Lucid dreaming" is when you can be conscious while you dream, so in fact, be able to "take control" of your dreams. Now, many people do not believe that it is possible to be "conscious" and still be asleep at the same time. "Lucid dreaming" is like waking up in the middle of your dream and operating your dream like you control your body when you are awake, except while you are still asleep. When you are imagining something, you are stressing your brain to think, to brainstorm ideas and thoughts. But in "lucid dreaming," you can enjoy yourself, do anything you want in your dreams, while your subconsciousness still continues creating the rest of the dream, weaving your environment, objects and characters in your dream, so as you yourself can choose what to do. It is like reality, where everything around you is there, and then, using your body, you can change things around you and do things and go places. I myself am trying to master this "lucid dreaming" technique, and I am starting to grasp a little bit of my dreams. I remember this one dream I had, where I had fallen off this wall, and seemed to be falling down, down, down into an endless pit, when I realized I was dreaming, so I had some fun, and positioned myself so that my head was facing down, when I hit the ground. I hit with a thump, but I didn't feel any pain. I got up, and then I teleported myself back to the top of the seemingly endless pit, where my family was waiting. Anyways, I've just started recording my dreams into my computer, and I've also decided to start posting them here on my website for public viewing.

Thursday, August 10, 2006:

I have decided to revive my lucid dreaming experiment. During the school year, I wake up too late to have a chance to jot down any dreams I remember, which are already scant in the first place. However, now that it is summer, and the Newark Academy Summer Session 2006 has ended, I have a bit more time. This is my only free week, for starting next week, official cross country practices and band practices begin. Thus, I probably won't be updating this very often. But I still wanted to bring this dream diary back, so that it is still available to me when I get the opportunity to write some wisps of dreams down. My entries are largely written in stream of conscience style, so grammar and punctuation are sometimes ignored, the narration jumps around a lot, and paragraphs end abruptly. Also, there may be a lot of inaccurate references to real things, but that is the way my dreams go.
