Vegetarianism

Since about the second week of school, I've been vegetarian. It started when I was eating a meal with Kelsey Sakimoto and Max Kushner-Lenhoff, the people who live directly across the hallway from me. I noticed neither of them had meat on their plate, so I asked them if either of them was vegetarian. To this, they explained that they were challenging each other to see who could stay vegetarian the longest, having started the contest at the beginning of the semester. I thought it would be fun to participate, so I started being vegetarian and still am.

A few nights ago, I was eating in my dream. I went and got some food and then I sat back down. I looked closely at my food and realized I had gotten a few hunks of meat. Not wanting to throw away the food and knowing it would be very socially unacceptable to return my food to the serving trays, I decided to just eat the meat and end the vegetarian challenge.

I woke up and was pleased to realize it was just a dream and that the challenge was still on. However, as the dream illustrates and as I have felt several times recently, I definitely crave meat.
